
The European Mediation Network Initiative (EMNI) seeks a Local Coordinator for Ireland. This voluntary role, which is a two year position, will entail working closely with the MII Board Member of EMNI in the gathering and dissemination of information about mediation in Ireland.
The European Mediation Network Initiative (EMNI) serves as a meeting point for organisations interested in the use of mediation in Europe. Its aim is to be a network of networks, an organisation for organisations that will compliment rather than compete with existing mediation organisations.
EMNI supports the development of mediation and related alternative dispute resolution methods and the establishment of mediation practices in all relevant fields of activity throughout Europe through the following activities:
The Mediators’ Institute of Ireland (MII) has been actively involved with EMNI for the last three years. We have a seat on the EMNI Board which includes representatives of Mediators and mediation bodies from across Europe. The MII also has a seat on the five-person Executive Committee (X-Com) of EMNI and is involved in monthly teleconferences with a view to further developing the network of Mediators across Europe.
Each country is now being requested to identify a designated Local Coordinator in addition to their Board Member. This is a voluntary role and the coordinators will initially take on the role for a period of two years. The tasks involved in the role include:
