Our Conference this year takes place in the Grand Hotel, Malahide, Dublin, on 4th and 5th November, 2011.

 Keynote Speaker

Our Keynote speaker this year is The Honorable Mrs Justice Catherine McGuiness, former President of the Law Reform Commisssion. A retired Judge of the Supreme Court, Mrs Justice Catherine McGuiness was called to the Irish Bar in 1977. In addition to her judicial career, Mrs Justice McGuinees has served on several state boards including the Adoption Board, the Voluntary Health Insurance Board, the National Economic and Social Council, the Second Comission on the Status of Women and has been Adjunct Professor of Law at the School of Law, NUI Galway since 2005.

As former President of the Law Reform Commission (LRC), Mrs Justice McGuinness has been closely involved in the extensive consultation, research and publications of the LRC into Alternative Dispute Resolution. She will talk about the use of mediation today in tandem with the legal system in a variety of sectors  from commercial to community as well as changing legislation in relation to mediation, i.e. the European Communities (Mediation) Regulations 2011 and the LRC draft Mediation and Conciliation Bill, 2010.
