There are 4 categories of MII member:

| Qualification requirements: | Attendance at 60 hour MII approved or equivalent course. |

| Membership Type: | Entitled to apply annually for a practicing certificate. Entitled to have profile featured on web in Find a Mediator section on MII website |
| Qualification requirements: | 1. Satisfactory completion of 60 hour MII approved or equivalent course |
| Further Clarification: | *2 (a) The MII or equivalent course may provide role play assessment or MII will provide 2 assessment days a year. **compulsory for family mediation route |
| Membership Type: | Practitioner: Entitled to apply annually for a practicing certificate. Entitled to have profile featured on web in Find a Mediator section on MII website. |

| Further Clarification: | A Family require a minimum of 100 hours face-to-face mediation; Community require a minimum of 100 hours of mediaiton experience of which at least 17 hours must be face-to-face mediation as solo Mediator or Co-Mediator.
Note: In addition to the above, progression through the Family route requires a mandatory MII approved 64-hours of specific case knowledge. |
