General Profile

Cathal has 10 years experience as a practising solicitor.
He has practised mainly in the areas of family law, employment law and litigation. He was legal adviser to the Health Service Executive West for a long number of years, advising and representing the HSE on Child Care, Mental Health, Care of the Elderly, Environmental Health, Employment law and Administrative law.

He is very committed to alternatives to litigation in resolving disputes, especially mediation. His vast experience as a solicitor is helpful in his role as mediator. As a mediator he attempts to guide the parties away from the courts, encourages them to take responsibility for achieving a resolution and assists them in agreeing a mutually acceptable solution.
He undertakes mediations of a wide variety of disputes including family, employment, civil and commercial. His interest in sport and his representation of sports persons and sporting bodies means that he is ideally suited to sport disputes.
