Practitioner Members and Certified Members may apply for an MII Practising Certificate, which is issued on an annual, calendar year basis. Only members with hold a current MII Practising Certificate are approved by the MII to mediate. Practising MII Mediators are bound by the MII Code of Ethics and Practice and may only mediate where they have the appropriate training, knowledge and competence to effectively mediate.
To be issued with an MII Practising Certificate you must:
The Practising Certificate is valid to the end of the calendar year in which it is issued.
If your signed, required documents and appropriate fee for registration are received up to 31 January of any year you will be deemed to have registered on 1 January in that year.
While the MII will remind members of their registration requirements, it is the member’s responsibility to register in a timely fashion. The profiles of Members who have not renewed their annual membership by 1 February will be removed from the website without further notice.
On issuance of your Practising Certificate before the end of February your practising certificate will be dated 5 days after your papers are received and your profile will be reinstated and you will not be charged any extra fee. If you fulfil your registration requirements after the end February an administration fee of €50.00 will apply on top of the renewal fee as is the case for new or lapsed members.
Please note, applications will be deemed to have been dealt with 5 working days after receipt.
