Specific 32 Hour Knowledge Requirement for Mediating with Separating Couples

The MII Council has approved a proposal from the Accreditation Policy Committee (APC) for additional knowledge requirements for MII Mediators practising in Family (Separating Couples) mediation.

The additional knowledge requirements will become mandatory for approved MII Mediators practising in the area of Separating Couples following a transitional period and with a provisional date of  1 January 2013. There will be exemptions for Mediators who can demonstrate they have already covered the particular areas of training, or a particular section of the training.

Trainers or suitably qualified persons are invited to submit proposals for the development and delivery of the training, which will be delivered through the MII.  The details of the specific areas to be covered in the 32 Hour Knowledge Requirements for Family (Separating Couples) Mediation is shown below, and applications for interested trainers can be obtained by contacting Deirdre Conway at info@themii.ie.
