Course Objectives
Methodology
The approach of this six day (3 x 2 day) workshop will be highly interactive and practical. Participants will be encouraged to express their views and to discuss their own experience.
Target Audience
Typically people who have some experience of working life and potentially people in positions of some influence. It is unlikely that this course will be suitable for those just starting their first job. Experienced human resource professionals, trade union officials, supervisors/managers, other professionals and those with an interest in learning about how to deal effectively with conflict and disagreement. Those who want to improve their communication techniques and those who may be looking at mediation as a career will also find the programme worthwhile. A third level qualification may be useful but is not essential as the course is not overly academic in nature.
Quality Standards
This course is fully accredited by the Mediators Institute of Ireland for Associate membership level. An optional extra day will be arranged for those who may be interested in proceeding to Certified membership level.
Topics covered
A range of topics will be covered over the six days including the following:-
An essential part of the course will be a short project which should be completed within three months of the end of the programme.
Cost for the programme is €2,400 per person for IBEC members / €2,600 per person for non-members, payable in advance by cheque or bank draft. Includes lunch, coffee etc.
