General Profile
My name is Anne Lordan and I am an accredited mediator registered with the Mediators Institute of Ireland. I have a Diploma in Mediation and Conflict Negotiation and a Post Graduate Certificate in Family Mediation from NUI Maynooth (2018-2020) which qualifies me to work with separating couples. I am governed by the MII’s Code of Ethics and Practice for Mediators and the Mediation Act 2017.
I know how difficult and painful marriage breakdown and separation is and my personal belief is that families and particularly children benefit enormously from using mediation to navigate their separation therefore avoiding the adversarial court route which is expensive but more importantly damaging to the couple’s remaining relationship.
As a couple you are the experts on your lives and your children’s lives, what their needs are and the decisions you both need to make to allow you to move forward while also continuing to parent in an effective, positive and loving way.
How/when do we tell the children? Who moves out and when? What happens with the family home? When will we each have time with our children? What do we do about living expenses/savings/car/ pensions? These are some of the issues you may be struggling with at the moment while also finding it very difficult to communicate with each other in a constructive way. Communication may even have broken down completely.
The mediation process will enable me to facilitate that conversation with you both in a safe, confidential, impartial, non-judgemental, compassionate way so you can decide what happens next.
