Brian is a vastly experienced Advanced Mediator who has participated in over 1000 hours of face-to-face mediation over the past two decades. Brian has lectured on Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution practices in Trinity College, University College Dublin and Maynooth University.
Brian held the position of Honorary Secretary of the Mediators Institute of Ireland for 7 years up until January 2021 and is a current member of the the MII Council. When conducting mediation Brian adheres to the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland's Code of Ethics (available on www.themii.ie ).
Brian is happy to meet people Face-to-Face or conduct mediation through Online processes such as Zoom, Whatssap or Google Meet. Brian has facilitated numerous successful and lasting resolutions across many sectors including Workplace, Family, Separating Couples, Commercial and Community. Brian is the principal partner in the company Mediation Options.
Mediation Options is based in Dublin City Centre and offers Mediation services throughout the whole of Ireland. Mediation is provided across a wide range of sectors in accordance with the provisions of the Mediation Act 2017.
Mediation Experience
Between 2001 and 2011 Brian facilitated over 300 equality mediations under Equal Status and Employment legislation while working as a Mediator with the Equality Tribunal. In all, Brian has conducted in excess of 1000 hours of mediation dealing with disputes involving the Services Sector (banking, education, airlines etc.) and the Workplace.
In 2005 Brian was appointed Head of Mediation in the Equality Tribunal and successfully managed its Mediation Service until 2011 when he took up a position with the Family Mediation Service.
In more recent times Brian participated in the Civil and Public Service Mediation Initiative and played an active role in resolving many workplace disputes arising within the Public Sector itself

Following his retirement from the Public Service in 2016, Brian established a private mediation practice, Mediation Options, with the intention of utilising his extensive mediation experience and professional knowledge to achieve positive outcomes for all parties involved.
