I am an experienced Mediator/Facilitator/Trainer and have been working in the area of mediation and conflict resolution, both as a practitioner as well as training professional mediators, for the past 20 years. I have also worked in an advisory capacity e.g. with organisations setting up in-house mediation services as well as other mediation related consultancy work. I have worked across all sectors including civil and public service organisation, academic and educational institutions, multi-national organisations, SME’s and not for profit organisations.
Since 2018 I have been working in private practice as well as a part-time Associate with the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) Dublin. For the previous 16 years I worked in a full-time capacity as a Human Resource Management (HRM) Consultant and Director of Mediation Training Programmes & Services at the IPA, Dublin. In that role I was responsible for the development and delivery of all mediation related training and consultancy services provided by the Institute as well as a suite of HRM specific training programmes. Prior to that I held the position of Personnel Officer and Human Resources Manager at the IPA for a period of 10 years..
With over 25 years’ experience both at management, operational and consultancy level in the area of human resource management as well as working as a practicing mediator and training professional mediators, I have a wide range of experience of dispute resolution at all levels. I draw on this experience in relation to my current work..
I am passionate about the power of ‘dialogue’ rather than ‘debate’ in helping people resolve issues between them. I am regarded as someone who operates in a highly professional manner, with a calm and empathetic approach.
