Mary Rafferty, B.Ed., M.Sc., International Coaching Federation ACC, Advanced Mediator Mediators’ Institute of Ireland.
Mary has worked in private practice as a Mediator, Trainer and Coach (Conflict Coaching, Leadership Coaching) since 2006 in a wide range of organisations both private and public sector. Mary’s work over the past 15 years has focused on supporting organisations in both public and private sectors to build high quality robust relationships in their teams and a culture of open and transparent communication.
An experienced trainer, coach and mediator, Mary brings a warm, supportive, empathic yet very focused approach to her work with both individuals and groups. She has a huge belief in the innate resilience and potential of each person and the role that mindset brings to one’s approach to any aspect of work or life.
Mary specialises in coaching for leaders and managers around building positive and resilient working relationships. She is passionate about coaching and training leaders in the art and skills of having transparent and authentic dialogue and ‘learning’ conversations within their teams: Conversations are the lifeblood of relationships and relationships as the lifeblood of any kind of organisational success.
She has designed a structured 8-step approach ‘POISE NOW’ to teach and coach leaders and managers to navigate ‘difficult conversations’ with greater clarity and confidence which she has delivered to hundreds of managers and leaders. Mary works as an Associate Coach and Team Coach with Career Decisions, as part of the Centre for School Leadership Coaching Panel. She is also a Senior Associate Facilitator and Coach with the Mindful Leader Academy. Mary holds a Certificate in Team Coaching and has also trained in the Organisational and Relationship Systems Model for working with team dynamics.
Mary is the Lead Trainer on an Mediators’ Institute of Ireland Approved Accredited Mediation Programme to Certified Level She is also a member of the international team of Approved CINERGY™ Conflict Coaching facilitators. She has delivered these programmes both in Ireland and abroad since 2009.
Mary is also certified to administer the Conflict Dynamics Profile (Eckerd College, Florida), an assessment instrument dealing with conflict behaviors in the workplace which provides a powerful way to improve self-awareness of what triggers conflict in individuals as well as how they respond to conflict
Mary is a Director of the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland and of the Accreditation Policy Committee.
Mary holds an Honours Degree in Education, a Master’s Degree with Distinction in Social Science and has attended a wide variety of specialised trainings in the field of conflict resolution.
