Niall Quinn BL is a practising barrister and trained mediator who has been engaged as a mediator and facilitator in a broad range of commercial, employment and community disputes to assist parties in conflict resolution. His recent engagements include referrals from solicitors and other professionals, appointments by companies, statutory bodies and Government Ministers. He has been instructed both as a mediator/facilitator overseeing mediated/facilitated processes and as an advisor and legal representative to parties engaged in mediation. Since 2022 Niall has been a member of the Mediators' Institute of Ireland Organisation and Workplace Mediation Committee.
Respected for his independence, impartiality and judgement, beyond his day-to-day work as a mediator, facilitator and barrister Niall has been selected by the Mental Health Commission for a panel of Decision-Making Representatives for appointment by the Courts under the Assisted Decision Making Act 2015 to make decisions for those who lack capacity. He is a former non-executive board member of the National Treatment Purchase Fund and served as a Member of the National Oversight and Audit Commission, a statutory body which oversees the local government sector in Ireland for three years (2020 - 2023).
Prior to commencing practice as a barrister and mediator, Niall worked in a range of professional service advisory roles including finance and strategic communications. He commenced his career with Ernst & Young as a Corporate Tax Advisor before holding a number of senior management roles in strategic communications and reputation management advisory firms. He is a Fellow and former President of the Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII) and non-executive director of the Public Relations Consultants Association.
A BSc (Mgmt) graduate of Trinity College Dublin, Niall studied law at the Honorable Society of King's Inns Dublin and was called to the Bar in 2015. He undertook his professional certification programme to become an Accredited Mediator at Griffith College Dublin and is a full member of the Mediators' Institute of Ireland.
Niall conducts mediation and facilitation both in-person and on a range of online platforms reflecting the needs of parties to mediation/facilitation.
