General Profile
Seamus brings vast experience and knowledge as a Certified Family and Workplace Mediator with a solid grounding in family business, self-employment and in the last twenty years as a Senior Social Worker working with children and families experiencing conflict.
His lived experience has been bolstered by his undergraduate study in Sociology and Psychology, a Masters in Social Work, and ongoing extensive training in working with families at risk and family business upheaval.
Seamus has a wealth of experience in supporting families through conflict arising from couple’s relationship difficulties, separation and divorce, parents of children in care, custody and access conflict, adult sibling conflict, and family business and succession planning conflict. Seamus is well placed to identify the value of mediation as a dispute resolution approach.
As a member of the Institute of Study of Conflict Transformation Seamus ensures a high-quality, professional and supportive mediation, lending itself to strict impartiality and client self-empowerment, which is underpinned by a significant knowledge of attachment. This creates a safe, empathic, and non-judgemental environment in which the party can seek their own agreed outcome. Seamus also is experienced in work place mediation.
