General Profile
I have worked for over 25 years in the not-for-profit sector and accumulated vast experience in that time in group facilitation, conflict resolution and employment practices. My training in mediation and achievement of certification have provided a formal structure and qualification for my expertise in supporting individuals, groups and organisations to resolve the inevitable disputes that arise from time to time.
I grew up on a farm in Co. Cavan and witnessed how land and other disputes can arise and follow one generation after another. Having completed training with Succession Ireland in Farm Succession, I am available to work with farm families in planning their future and that of the farm.
Living and working in a border county and having supported, and participated in, various cross-community and cross-border initiatives, I also understand at a very deep level the devastating effects of political conflict and the critical importance of conflict resolution. From the personal to the political, the local to the global, I believe that mediation can play a vital role in breaking down barriers and enabling people and communities to hear one another and reach agreement.
I also work as a consultant with Ómra Support Agency, which provides a range of services to community and voluntary organisations. For more information go to https://www.omra.ie
I am available for mediation in the areas of community, organisational / workplace, separating couples and family generally.
