Next Meeting: Wednesday 17th September at 13.00 GMT GMT/British Summer Time

Our MII TED TALK is open to all so please share the information with your network.
September’s session will have an international flavour – other panellists and MII members Janie Bouzek and Ilona Kupp-Lieck will be in the US and France respectively and Chair Scott Alexander will be in Gran Canaria. MII President, Andrea O’Neill, will be in Dublin. She’s so busy with the MII conference in October that we don’t let her travel!
The panel and audience will be watching the following video live and then we’ll be analysing the contents and their relevance to mediation with the help of our expert panel.
Our video will be: Eve Pearlman: How to lead a conversation between people who disagree
In a world deeply divided, how do we have hard conversations with nuance, curiosity, respect? Veteran reporter Eve Pearlman introduces “dialogue journalism”: a project where journalists go to the heart of social and political divides to support discussions between people who disagree. See what happened when a group that would have never otherwise met — 25 liberals from California and 25 conservatives from Alabama — gathered to talk about contentious issues. “Real connection across difference: this is a salve that our democracy sorely needs,” Pearlman says.
